Ananya's toys

Ananya quickly got bored with her exersaucer...until Thatha spent a few days with us this past week while in town for a conference. Together, they discovered a whole new world underneath the exersaucer, which Ananya loved!

Her absolute favorite toy in the world is this moving butterfly (thanks Ranjit Uncle, Stacey Aunty, and Leela!) and, as you can see, she can't contain her delight when the butterfly starts moving.

10 months old

It's been quite an incredible month for Ananya. She started crawling and then, two days later when all the grandparents were gathered for dinner, she crawled to a couch, and stood up! She now cruises with total confidence, making it quite a challenge for her parents to keep up with her :) She screams with joy all the time, has said "mama" and "mommy" once (yes, I cried!), is sleeping even more soundly now that her crawling tires her out, continues to love her swimming lessons (she's quite the splasher), and eats pretty much everything that we eat. She now has 4 teeth and is super-ticklish.

Her 10 month birthday coincided with her first Easter (and also a mild fever, hence her non-smiley face). Thanks to Anju Mausi for the Easter basket and Aparna Aunty for the Ananya shirt!

Here's a video of Ananya cruising:

April fun

Ananya has had a very fun April. She spent one weekend in Cupertino and enjoyed her backyard picnics with her Thatha and Avva. She took a walk in Chinatown with her Dadu and Dadi, where store owners apparently were showering Ananya with free gifts! And in the meantime, she's had fun playing with toys, friends, and, of course, gadgets!

Our little techie

Ananya is clearly her father's daughter...she loves all gadgets, and her favorites are laptops and any working Blackberry. She has developed some pretty amazing skills so far, including turning on/off a computer, pressing the "off" button during phone calls (sorry Mom!), and creating lots of teeth marks on every gadget she can get her hands on!

Crocodiles and Fishy Fun

We became members of the Academy of Sciences, and took Ananya to see the albino alligator and all the fish in the acquarium. Cheryl and Connor joined in on the fun, too!
