Matching shirts

One of the things I love most about having two girls is that I can put them in matching outfits :) Thank you to Kittu Thatha and Shoba Avva for the adorable shirt and onesie! Here are some pictures of the two kiddos in their matching "name" shirts:

Happy birthday, America!

July 4th came upon us pretty quickly and since we hadn't made any daytime plans, we decided to take the kids to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was a fun day, where we saw penguins and jellyfish and sharks and sea turtles and a host of other sea creatures. Ananya enjoyed touching the starfish and sea cucumbers. Amisha loved walking and crawling up and down the stairs (couldn't we have done that at home?). Our friends, Dale and Grace, and their 3 boys, including Conley who is Ananya's soccer buddy, joined us for the day. Here are some pictures:

Jay Sean vs. Ananya

Ananya has been hooked to Jay Sean's "Baby are you down" song ever since she was about 1 1/2 years old. She still sings it every now and then, so I wanted to share with you:

Maui Wowee

We took a fun trip to Maui in June to celebrate Ananya's birthday. It was so relaxing and fun, especially since I had just started my new insanely exciting but intensely busy job. AJ and Ray joined us for a few days and then my inlaws joined us for almost a week of fun in the sun! Our daily schedule was as follows: wake up, go to the beach, eat lunch, come home and nap, go to the pool, shower, go out to dinner, go to sleep. Awesome. The major highlight of the trip for Ananya was that she gained a ton of confidence in the pool, would swim by herself with her arm floaties, and became OBSESSED with the long, steep, curvy waterslide! At first, we'd go with her but then she started going by herself...and then would try coming down the slide forwards, backwards, face first, on her tummy...it was so amazing to see how much fun she was having and how confident she had become! Yay! Here are some videos: Beach time Ananya on the waterslide Here are some pictures from our trip to Maui:

Ananya turns 4!

Ananya was SUPER excited about her birthday this year and was literally counting down the days until June 12th. She was insistent that her birthday parties be at home, be lion-themed, and include a bouncy house. Done! Here is a video from her Bing School Birthday Celebration Here are some pictures from her birthday week:

Tushar & Yamini's wedding

Over the next few days, I'm going to try to update this blog so expect some long-overdue posts! Tushar and Yamini got married in Troy, Michigan in what was a fun-filled, beautiful, kid-free Memorial Day weekend. I had never left Amisha overnight and never left Ananya for more than 2 nights, so I was nervous...but the kids were in great hands with both sets of grandparents and Adhara and, as expected, they had a super fun weekend with lots of adventure and playing and attention and love. P & I had a blast - we got to see Ranjit and Stacey our first night there, and then spent the weekend with some of our closest friends, celebrating this super special, long-overdue wedding of Tushar's! Lots of craziness, including a late night run to White Castle, ensued but the best part was seeing how incredibly happy Tushar and Yamini were.
