5 weeks old

Ananya made her first "official" outing this past weekend. With both of our families, we took her to the temple, where her name ceremony took place. Despite bells clanging and holy water and rice thrown in her direction, she managed to sleep right through it all :) We then took her to visit both her Thatha/Avva's house (Aditi's parents) and her Dada/Dadi/Bua's house (Pooneet's parents and sister). She is one lucky girl to have both sets of grandparents so close by! And then, so that she wasn't the only one having fun, we left her with Thatha/Avva and went to go see Batman! It's nice for us parents to have a semblance of a social life every now and then :)

Ananya continues to delight us with her million expressions per minute, her arm and leg stretches, her spit bubbles (we're very proud!), and the funny sounds she makes! My next goal is to figure out how to get her to sleep better at night. As some of you may note, it is 5am and my lovely daughter hasn't slept all night. Ah, the joys of parenthood.

Ananya's cousin, Sonia Mohan Patten, was born yesterday and we are very excited for Erich, Deepa, and the rest of the Patten/Mohan clan to welcome Baby Sonia. We can't wait for Ananya and Sonia to meet, wear matching outfits (like what Aparna, Deepa, and Aditi used to do!), and play together!
